Accessibility

We are committed to ensuring that every student, staff member, and visitor—regardless of ability—can comfortably access our Bankstown campus and all online services. Our goal is to create an inclusive environment where everyone can learn, navigate, and participate without barriers.

Campus Accessibility

Our campus at 41–45 Rickard Road, Bankstown NSW, has been designed to support easy and safe access for individuals with varying physical needs. The building offers step-free entry at all main entrances, allowing wheelchair users and those with mobility devices to move freely into and around the premises. Elevators connect each level with ample space inside for comfortable use, and accessible washrooms are available on every floor to ensure convenience throughout the day.

Clear and highly visible signage is placed throughout the campus so visitors can find classrooms, student services, and facilities without confusion. Pathways inside the building are wide and unobstructed, making it easier for individuals with mobility challenges to navigate. In addition, our staff are always prepared to offer assistance whenever extra support is needed, whether that involves directions, physical guidance, or general campus information.

Transport & Location Accessibility

Our location is also intentionally chosen for accessibility. The campus is just a short walk—typically around five to seven minutes—from Bankstown Train Station, one of Sydney’s major transport hubs. Multiple bus routes operate from the station and surrounding streets, making the area easy to reach from various parts of Sydney. This strong public transport network benefits students with mobility limitations as well as those who rely on accessible transit options.

Website & Browser Accessibility

We strive to make our website as accessible as our physical campus. The site is designed to be compatible with modern browsers, screen readers, and assistive technologies so that everyone can access information with ease. Text across the site is structured to be readable at different zoom levels, and users can enlarge content without losing functionality or readability.

Navigation is kept simple and consistent across all pages, allowing keyboard-only users to move through menus and content seamlessly. Images are supported with alternative text so screen readers can interpret them accurately, and headings are structured in a logical hierarchy to improve clarity for users with visual or cognitive impairments.

The website layout adapts to different screen sizes, ensuring that students using tablets, phones, or accessibility devices experience the same level of usability. We continuously monitor and update our pages to maintain accessibility compliance, especially when new technology or browser standards evolve.

Learning Support

We are dedicated to helping students receive the support they need to succeed academically. Students with short-term or long-term disabilities can request reasonable adjustments, and our support team will work closely with them to create a personalised learning plan. We also provide quiet study spaces, access to digital materials, and guidance for using campus and online systems.

Safety & Emergency Assistance

To ensure everyone’s safety, the building includes clearly marked emergency exits and accessible evacuation routes. Our staff are trained to provide assistance during emergencies, including supporting individuals with limited mobility. All safety equipment on campus is regularly inspected and maintained.
